Victor Osimhen Transfer News Today: Man Utd’s MAGNETISM revealed as signing talks confirmed
All the latest transfer news and gossip on Victor Osimhen, whose inevitable move away from Napoli continues to cause a stir.
Man Utd still attractive but face €12m problem
Manchester United have been told that they have a ‘burning magnetism’ that could attract Osimhen to sign for them, despite their lack of European football next season.
The Red Devils are still considered to be a serious option for the player, Corriere del Mezzogiorno reports (via United in Focus).
Osimhen’s wage demands continue to be a huge problem for the Old Trafford club, though. The Nigeria international continues to demand a salary worth €12 million per year, which is considered to be too great for the Old Trafford side.
Release clause expiry date revealed
Osimhen’s release clause of €75 million from Napoli continues to play an important role in the transfer market, with this considered to be the magic fee required to take the player away from the Serie A side.
Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed that the clause will be active until 15 July, giving teams outside Serie A around another two weeks to formulate a deal to get a transfer over the line.
This figure may not be as important as first thought, though. With no bidding war emerging for Osimhen, Napoli are likely to have to take what they can get for the player at some point.
Osimhen transfer talks ongoing with Juventus
Juventus secured the signing of Canada international forward Jonathan David as a free agent on Wednesday, but the Turin side will not let that stop them from moving for Osimhen, too.
Igor Tudor’s club are seeking to fundamentally rewire their attack for the new season and Sky Sport Italia says that signing Osimhen remains very much on the agenda.
“Juventus continue to speak with Victor Osimhen and his entourage,” it reports (via AreaNapoli).
“The management know that Dusan Vlahovic must leave for Osimhen to arrive.
“There’s also a return to the case of Mateo Retegui, but he’s a backup option. Osimhen remains the first objective in Juventus’ mind.
“Vlahovic must go elsewhere: his performances have not been good and he has not satisfied the various coaches at the club. The Serbian is also on the market because he has a high salary.”
Although Osimhen’s clause is only valid for clubs outside of Serie A, Napoli now appear willing to accept a bid of €75m from their rivals due to a lack of other interest.
Osimhen could hook up with Jadon Sancho at Juventus, with Juve targeting a €29m move for the England winger, whose wages are once again set to be a problem.
