Chelsea transfer decision helps Man Utd sell Rasmus Hojlund
Chelsea could inadvertently help Manchester United sell Rasmus Hojlund during the 2025 summer transfer window.
The Denmark international has endured a tough two-year spell at Old Trafford, since arriving from Atalanta for a fee of €77.8m in 2023, and he has been tipped to leave the club this summer amid Ruben Amorim’s pursuit of a new centre forward.
The Man Utd boss is eager to sign a new striker ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, and Hojlund may be offloaded in order to fund a transfer after scoring just four goals in 32 Premier League appearances last term.
Inter Milan were heavily linked with the 22-year-old during the early weeks of the summer transfer window, however they opted to sign Parma centre forward Ange-Yoan Bonny instead and Cristian Chivu’s side have now ended their interest in Hojlund.
However, their fierce rivals AC Milan have now joined the race for the Denmark star and they are exploring the conditions of a possible deal, according to Sky Sports.
The Rossoneri are eager to sign a new striker this summer and they have seemingly turned their attention to Hojlund, despite significant interest in Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson.
Multiple reports claim that Jackson is on Milan’s radar amid his uncertain future at Stamford Bridge, but Enzo Maresca’s side have slapped a €115 million price tag on his head, as per The Daily Mail, and the Serie A side simply don’t have the financial ability to match that valuation.
As a result, Milan have now identified Hojlund as a possible alternative, despite the fact he reportedly wants to fight for his place at Man Utd.
Which striker will Man Utd sign this summer?
If Man Utd are able to sell Hojlund this summer, they will almost certainly sign a new centre forward to replace him.
However, top target Liam Delap has joined Chelsea, while Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen are on the verge of joining Arsenal and Galatasaray, respectively.
As a result, the Red Devils will be forced to pursue alternative options, with Ollie Watkins, Moise Kean and the aforementioned Jackson all under consideration by INEOS.
