Real Madrid REJECT offer to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold favourite

Real Madrid were reportedly offered the chance to sign Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson just days before rumours of a summer move to Atletico Madrid emerged.
The Scotland international only has one year remaining on his current contract at Anfield and he has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Wanda Metropolitano ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Diego Simeone’s side have identified the 31-year-old as their primary left-back target for this summer, as per multiple reports, and Robertson is understood to be open to the move.
The former Hull City defender has spent the past eight years at Liverpool, following his arrival for €9 million in 2017, but an exit appears to be a distinct possibility.
The Reds are close to completing the signing of Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez and the Hungarian’s imminent move to Anfield could have a major impact on Robertson’s future.
The Scotland defender helped Liverpool win just their second ever Premier League title last season, however his form was a slight concern and Arne Slot is therefore eager to bolster his backline with the addition of Kerkez.
Andrew Robertson to Real Madrid?
With Robertson set to be demoted to a back-up role, he is now exploring his options and Atletico Madrid have emerged as strong contenders to sign him when the 2025 summer transfer window reopens.
However, Spanish outlet Defensa Central have claimed that Real Madrid were offered the chance to sign Robertson before their inter-city rivals identified him as a key target.

Robertson’s representatives reportedly offered his services to Xabi Alonso’s side, but Los Blancos quickly rejected the opportunity to land the 31-year-old as they remain determined to finalise a deal for Benfica’s Alvaro Carreras.
The Spaniard has been identified as the perfect long-term replacement for Ferland Mendy, with Real Madrid eager to improve their options at left-back after signing Trent Alexander-Arnold as their new right-back.
The England international, who is close friends with Robertson, could make his Real Madrid debut against Al-Hilal on Wednesday.
