Fabrizio Romano transfer news: Arsenal striker BREAKTHROUGH, Wirtz BOOM, Mbeumo PROGRESS

Fabrizio Romano has addressed the big transfer news headlines from around the globe, with vital updates from Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United are more.
Frank and Silva favourites for Tottenham job
Following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou, Romano has detailed the leading candidates to replace the Australian at Tottenham.
On his YouTube channel, he explained: “Conversations will start soon with Thomas Frank, who is the leading candidate for the job. Let’s see how the conversation will go. He’s the first option in the list.
“Another option in the list is Fulham’s Marco Silva. Spurs were also showing interest in Simone Inzaghi before he signed his contract with Al-Hilal, then it was impossible to compare the financial proposals. It’s normal that this will go into next week, but let’s see what Tottenham will do.”

Wirtz and Kerkez to Liverpool soon
Romano also said that everything is progressing smoothly for two blockbuster Liverpool deals, with Florian Wirtz set to create a new club-record transfer fee.
“I know Liverpool fans are waiting and waiting and waiting for this here we go, but don’t worry,” he assured fans.
“For Milos Kerkez, it’s expected that a new meeting will take place between Bournemouth and Liverpool to close the deal. There’s one more meeting to take place and then it’ll be done.
“The big one is obviously Florian Wirtz. There were new contacts in the last 48 hours. Liverpool are getting there. The deal is close to being done. The majority of the details for the transfer are being sorted – the transfer fee, the add-ons, the whole package. It’s almost there. Many contacts will take place one thing.
“Wirtz wants to go to Liverpool and let me clarify one thing: Wirtz has never asked for a shirt number or to take the shirt number for another player. He told Leverkusen that he only wants to go to Liverpool.
“We’re going to have a club record deal for probably more than €130m for Wirtz.”

More Man City talks needed for Cherki
On the subject of Man City, he reports that work is still needed on one of three deals they are attempting to complete.
Rayan Ait-Nouri and Tijjani Reijnders are expected to complete moves from Wolves and AC Milan this weekend, but another move is proving more complicated.
Romano says: “Manchester City are moving in the right direction for Rayan Cherki. Lyon want more than €30m but this deal is advancing. He only wants Man City and he wants to go to the Club World Cup. The player’s pushing a lot, but he should be a Man City player.”
Improved Mbeumo bid discussed at Man Utd
Man Utd have also had a bid knocked back for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, but amid reports that they have already tabled a second offer, Romano says things have not progressed quite that far.
“Manchester United and Brentford were back in club-to-club talks for Bryan Mbeumo. After the first meeting, £45m plus £10m was rejected by Brentford. The clubs have been in contact again,” Romano said.
“Let’s see when the official bid will come, but it’ll be closer to what the Bees want. Brentford started at £70m, but as always with negotiations, they can drop to something like what Man Utd paid for Matheus Cunha, £62.5m. Let’s see how the conversation will go.
“Mbeumo wants to go to Man Utd, despite approaches from Newcastle, Arsenal and more clubs. He’s got an agreement with the club.”
Arsenal focussed on Sesko
Mikel Arteta is finally closing in on the No.9 that Arsenal have been craving for months, with Benjamin Sesko subject to the Spaniard’s full attention at present. Viktor Gyokeres has had to take a backseat for the moment, Romano reports.
“Arsenal are advancing very well on a deal to sign Benjamin Sesko. There’s still nothing agreed but I can tell you that Arsenal are progressing with the club and with the player in terms of transfer fee but also salary and contract with the player,” Romano says.
“There have been several meetings. The conversation is now very advanced. This weekend should be quiet, but next week any moment could be good for the breakthrough for Sesko to become Arsenal’s new striker.
“The player is sold on the project of Mikel Arteta. Now he’s working on the details of this deal. But it’s advancing very well. In the next days, Benjamin Sesko will be getting closer and closer, and maybe completing his move to Arsenal.
“Viktor Gyokeres, the situation is not developing. Arsenal are focused on Sesko. For Gyokeres, I’m not aware of a bid or an agreement. He’s still on Arsenal’s list if something goes wrong for Sesko. But the priority for the Gunners is clearly Sesko.”
