Chelsea Transfer News Today: Maresca picks next striker as decision confirmed

FootballTransfers runs through all the latest Chelsea transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Randal Kolo Muani and Mike Maignan.
Randal Kolo Muani negotiations
Chelsea have reportedly entered into negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a possible summer move for Randal Kolo Muani.
The France international has been heavily linked with a permanent PSG exit ahead of the 2025-26 campaign and Chelsea have now emerged as strong contenders to secure his signature.
That is according to renowned French publication L’Equipe, who state that Enzo Maresca’s side are currently in talks to sign Kolo Muani this summer.
The 26-year-old, who is on loan at Juventus until the end of the Club World Cup, isn’t part of Luis Enrique’s long-term plans at PSG and the reigning Ligue 1 champions are eager to offload him.
Kolo Muani has been identified as an alternative option to fellow Chelsea targets Hugo Ekitike and Joao Pedro.
Mike Maignan decision
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea will not sign AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan this summer.
The Blues were in deep negotiations for Maignan before the pre-Club World Cup transfer window closed earlier this month and they saw two offers rejected by Milan - the first worth €10 million and the second worth €15m.
Milan demanded a fee of at least €23m and Chelsea have now decided against pursuing a deal for the France international this summer.
Nicolas Jackson asking price
Nicolas Jackson has been heavily linked with a Chelsea exit following his second red card in four games against Flamengo on Friday, and Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that a sale could take place this summer.
Jackson is no longer considered “untouchable” by the Chelsea hierarchy, as per Gianluca Di Marzio, and Romano has admitted that a departure is on the cards.
The football transfer news expert told his Italian YouTube channel: “What I can say at the moment as of June 21st, Chelsea is asking a high price for Jackson because I am told he has interest from the Premier League, we are talking above €55-60m.
“A possible departure for Jackson? Yes it’s possible, but in Italy it would only happen if Chelsea change their price.”

Andrey Santos to depart?
Chelsea have been warned that Andrey Santos could push to leave the club if he continues to be overlooked by Enzo Maresca.
The Brazilian is yet to feature at the Club World Cup and Ben Jacobs has revealed that his camp aren't best pleased.
The transfer reporter told the London is Blue podcast: “We’re going to start hearing a lot of noise, I think, from the Andrey Santos camp if he’s not getting the minutes.
“I think Santos is not seeing himself as the number two in his head to anyone.”
Dario Essugo thanks Ruben Amorim
Summer signing Dario Essugo has heaped praise on Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim following his first Chelsea appearance at the Club World Cup.
The pair worked together at Sporting CP and the Portuguese midfielder thanked Amorim during an interview with BBC Sport.
“I made one training session with the first team and the coach [Amorim] liked what he saw and he called me to play.
“He brought me to the first team so he helped me a lot, to understand the game, to reach the level I am here now. I am grateful. He is so demanding. He is a demanding person. He likes to win every time.”
Crystal Palace in transfer talks
Crystal Palace are in talks to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Luke Campbell on a free transfer this summer, according to The Mirror.
The teenager will leave Chelsea when his current contract expires at the end of June and Palace are set to battle Queens Park Rangers for his signature.
