However, according to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, the reports about a move within the Premier League are incorrect.

According to data from SciSports, De Bruyne would therefore be wise to join forces with Napoli. Fortunately for the Serie A side, the Belgian is 'attracted' to their project, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.

Di Marzio shared a spectacular update on Wednesday night about the next step in the career of De Bruyne, who will leave Manchester City after this season.

According to the journalist, the 32-year-old midfielder is said to have set his sights on a longer stay on the European scene, where Napoli and Liverpool have supposedly made an offer to De Bruyne's management.

In a video update on the latest transfer issues, Romano also responded to the rumours surrounding De Bruyne. "I've been getting a lot of messages about this," the journalist broaches the subject.

"At the moment, as far as I know, Liverpool are not in negotiations with De Bruyne. Liverpool have not approached him and are not in talks with him."

Why are Napoli the best fit for De Bruyne?

Romano reports that the Chicago Fire are very interested in signing De Bruyne. "They are really obsessed with him. So we will see if he stays in Europe," says the transfer journalist, who does not comment on Napoli's interest.

The Italians already have good credentials due to the presence of Romelu Lukaku, and for De Bruyne, it also seems to be an excellent transfer. According to data from SciSports, De Bruyne has a Club Fit of 80 with Napoli.

At the current leaders of the Serie A, the experienced playmaker would have a sufficient claim to playing time, he could rotate in midfield with Scott McTominay and also fill the vacancy left by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the left side. The playing style of coach Antonio Conte also seems to suit De Bruyne well.

In Serie A, the Career Advice Tool also shows that Inter, with a Club of 79, are an excellent option for De Bruyne. In terms of playing time, however, the prospects are worse for the veteran, though he also fits well in Milan based on his playing style.

Another alternative are Paris Saint-Germain with a Club Fit of 78. De Bruyne fits perfectly into the style of play that Luis Enrique uses for the Parisians, but he would have to accept a reserve role.
