Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly both interested in signing Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, who is valued at roughly €95 million (£80m).

The England international was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea before joining Newcastle for €45.6m in January 2023, and the Blues have rekindled their interest ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

That is according to iNews, who claim that Arsenal are also understood to be eyeing a possible move for Gordon once the 2024-25 campaign draws to a close.

Arsenal and Chelsea are both eager to sign a new left winger this year, and they are set to compete for Athletic Club’s Nico Williams and Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens when the summer window opens.

However, Gordon has now been identified as an alternative option by the London clubs and Newcastle have reportedly placed a €95m (£80m) price tag on his head as they look to fend off interest in his services.

The 24-year-old has scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 41 appearances across all competitions so far this season, but Newcastle may be forced to consider a sale amid concerns over the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for the ex-Everton winger last summer, however their interest has seemingly cooled and an Anfield switch now looks increasingly unlikely.

Chelsea rekindle Anthony Gordon interest

Gordon, whose Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at just €49.5m, was close to joining Chelsea during Thomas Tuchel’s time in charge at Stamford Bridge, but the deal ultimately failed to materialise.

“It was quite close, to be honest,” Gordon told reporters when asked about Chelsea’s interest back in November.

“I was desperate to go at the time and work with him [Tuchel] especially. I felt like my style would suit his style of play, the way he was playing at Chelsea which was very exciting for me.

“It didn’t end up happening. It was a big opportunity for me that didn’t end up happening and I’m looking forward to getting to work with him a couple of years later [in the England set-up].”
