CONFIRMED: 'Next big Liverpool' transfer as Arne Slot sends MILLIONS to PSG

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, yet Arne Slot’s side are already targeting a second €100 million signing of what promises to be a memorable summer at Anfield.
Following the club’s Premier League title triumph, the Reds are seeking to build on their momentum, with sporting director Richard Hughes having been handed the credit card to keep Slot’s side on top.
Wirtz is close to signing for the Anfield club while deals for Jeremie Frimpong (Leverkusen) and Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth) are both thought to be progressing promisingly.
Now Sky Sport Deutschland reports that Liverpool are also eyeing a blockbuster move for Eintracht Frankfurt hitman Hugo Ekitike.
Florian Plettenberg tweeted: “The next big target from the Bundesliga: I understand Liverpool are now seriously in the race for Hugo Ekitike!
“Talks have taken place. Arne Slot and Liverpool CEO Martin Edwards are keen on him. The biggest rival at the moment: Chelsea.
“Eintracht Frankfurt have not yet received an offer. Their CEO Markus Krosche still demands €100m.”

Hugo Ekitike: One of the Bundesliga’s best
Ekitike has enjoyed a spectacular season for Eintracht Frankfurt. Across all competitions, he has played 48 matches, scoring 22 goals and assisting a further 12.
The 22-year-old forward was rated among the Bundesliga’s best forwards by data analytics firm SciSports for the 2024/25 campaign, which was his first having signed for Frankfurt from PSG.
Hugo Ekitike vs Bundesliga forwards: Overall performance (2024/25)
Ekitike made a €16.5m move to Eintracht from the Champions League finalists a year ago after a spell on loan, but crucially PSG retain a 20% sell-on clause in the player.
As such, if Frankfurt get their way and Liverpool pay €100m for the forward, €20m of this will jet to Parc des Princes.
The Reds will doubtless seek to drive the price down, with the German side thought to be willing to go as low as €80m for Ekitike, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €57.7m.
