Cristiano Ronaldo contract talks with Crystal Palace owner: 'Similar' deal to Al-Nassr offered

Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his likely departure from Al-Nassr at the end of his contract, sending the transfer market into a frenzy.
With the window to sign players prior to the FIFA Club World Cup set to open on Sunday, there is a scramble to secure the services of the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend. Teams are hopeful of completing a high-profile signing before the competition begins.
Of course, that will not be entirely straightforward as Ronaldo’s deal with the Saudi Pro League side does not expire until 30 June, meaning that Al-Nassr could be due some compensation if he is to sign in time to play in the US.
In a surprise twist following his tearful goodbye, CR7 has been offered terms by Al-Nassr but rivals Al-Hilal have presented him with an offer. Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca have also been linked with him.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, has been offered the opportunity to earn a stake in Premier League side Crystal Palace if he signs for Botafogo in what is increasingly looking like the most probable destination for him.

Ronaldo to Botafogo: CR7 offered Crystal Palace partnership
According to Jorge Nicola, Ronaldo finds himself in talks with Eagle Football Holdings over a move to the Brazilian club, who will face Seattle Sounders, PSG and Atletico Madrid in the Club World Cup.
As part of the deal, they are negotiating a partnership with the company, which also owns Lyon, RWD Moleneek and FC Florida as well as Europa League-bound Crystal Palace.
“Ronaldo has in his hands an important proposal from Botafogo to play in the Club World Cup and for the remainder of the season,” Nicola states on YouTube.
“This offer includes the possibility of becoming a partner with John Textor in his clubs.
“Ronaldo continues to play at a very high level and Al-Nassr has suggested an extension there worth €16.5 million a month [£88m].
“John Textor’s Botafogo proposal is similar, not in terms of value, but in terms of a percentage of shares.
“Ronaldo has not yet responded but there is an enormous expectation of seeing him become a Botafogo player for the Club World Cup.”
The offer from Eagle Football Holdings must be seen as a tempting one for the former Man Utd and Real Madrid star, who would be given a pathway to continue his career in business once he finally hangs up his boots. It also opens the tantalising possibility of Ronaldo one day making a return to the Premier League with Crystal Palace.
