Cunha to Man Utd: Here we go!

Manchester United’s first signing of the summer will be Brazil international winger Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Romano confirmed.

“Matheus Cunha to Manchester United is a here we go! The deal is agreed for Man Utd to sign Cunha. This week will be the time to exchange the documents and then sign the contract. But the agreement is done. It’s a five-year contract with the option for an additional year,” Romano told his YouTube channel.

“Cunha accepted the project. He’s very excited by the prospect of playing for Manchester United and has already been in contact with Ruben Amorim, so he’s ready for the move.

“United have also made first contact with Wolves to agree on the package of the transfer fee. The value will be the one in the release clause, €75 million, paid in instalments.

“Everything will be closed between Man Utd and Wolves this week and Cunha has already accepted every single detail of the proposal. He’ll be the first signing of the summer transfer window for Man Utd.”

Garnacho and Onana to leave Man Utd

Romano confirmed that both Alejandro Garnacho and Andre Onana are set to leave Manchester United squad after the pair were left out of the final Premier League match of the season against Aston Villa.

“For Garnacho, he’s expected to leave the club. He’s going. Now he’s with the squad for the post-season tour, travelling with the squad. But the expectation is that they will try to find a solution for the player,” Romano said.

“It’s not Man Utd trying to offload Garnacho, both feel it’s the best time to part ways. So the conversations will continue.

“There was interest from Chelsea and Napoli in January and now I’m told the race is open for other clubs. It’s not just these two.

“Why was Onana out of the squad? There’s still a possibility for Onana to leave Man Utd in the summer transfer window. Man Utd are interested in some goalkeepers, one of them is Milinkovic-Savic at Torino. There are more on the shortlist of Man Utd.

“But Onana could be sold. It depends on the transfer fee. They paid big money for him and they’re not going to accept a lower amount or small proposals. But for sure they’re open to proposals.

“There’s still interest from Saudi so let’s see what happens. For example, there was interest in Casemiro from Saudi last year but the right proposal for the player and the club never arrived.

“But for sure, Alejandro Garnacho and Andre Onana are two cases to watch in the summer transfer window.”

Who will Liverpool sign this summer?

Liverpool have lined up a busy summer transfer window, with Romano confirming advanced talks for Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.

“It’s an important week for Liverpool. They’ll be in direct contact again with Bayer Leverkusen. From Monday, there will be formal talks to advance on the Florian Wirtz deal. It’s going very well and now it’s time to close the deal,” Romano said.

“My information is that Milos Kerkez already has an agreement on personal terms with Liverpool. It’s just about some small details.

“Liverpool are in active conversations with Bournemouth. They’re still working on this one. The discussions will continue to get this deal done. They’re convinced to advance.”

Napoli with a big De Bruyne bid

Kevin De Bruyne will leave Manchester City at the end of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and has been offered a sizeable contract to move to Napoli. But the Serie A champions won’t have things all their own way.

“We’re entering into the week when Kevin De Bruyne will make his decision on the future,” Romano said.

“De Bruyne has played in his final game for Manchester City. He was never in contact with Liverpool – that story was not true – but he now has a proposal from Chicago Fire on the table and a huge offer from Napoli, who have improved their proposal in the last 24 hours.

“There’s a three-year deal on the table from Napoli and Chicago will wait until the end and for the player to announce his decision.”

Barcelona’s Joan Garcia offer

Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia continues to appear on the shortlist of many clubs. Romano says that Barcelona are formulating a bid – but it’s not one the keeper will necessarily accept.

“Joan Garcia has a release clause at €25 million. He’s considered by several clubs around Europe a great opportunity. His value is, for sure, higher than that,” he confirmed.

“What’s the reality with Barcelona? First point: Barcelona have an excellent relationship with the player’s agent. Second point: they want to buy him and loan him to another club.

“At the moment, this isn’t guaranteed. They’re still discussing with the player. They need to talk to Joan Garcia and see if this solution is something appreciated by the player.

“Joan Garcia is already on the list of Aston Villa, he’s a player that Arsenal wanted a year ago before the deal collapsed and they signed Neto.”
