Arsenal are firmly in the race to sign the Brazilian this summer, as Mikel Arteta pushes to bring a new left winger to the Emirates Stadium, while Liverpool and Manchester City have also been tipped to pursue a move.

Chelsea have now registered their interest in the 24-year-old too and they have already contacted his representatives in a bid to understand the possibility of a summer deal, according to GOAL.

Enzo Maresca’s side are yet to initiate talks with Real Madrid, however they are eager to bring Rodrygo to west London this summer. The Brazil star has scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 50 appearances so far this season and he is seen as a player capable of significantly bolstering Chelsea’s attack.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid remain interested in completing a deal for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, as per GOAL, and a swap deal could therefore potentially be on the cards if both clubs reach an agreement.

Chelsea target new left winger

In addition to Rodrygo, Chelsea have identified a number of alternative targets amid their pursuit of a new left winger.

The club are desperate to bolster their options out wide due to Mykhailo Mudryk’s ongoing suspension for a positive doping test and Jadon Sancho’s underwhelming form since his arrival from Manchester United on loan.

Athletic Club superstar Nico Williams and Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jamie Gittens are both on Chelsea’s radar, while the club have reportedly rekindled their interest from Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, who is valued at around €95m (£80m).

The England international was close to a Stamford Bridge switch back in 2022, during Thomas Tuchel’s time in charge, and Chelsea have now identified him as a possible transfer target once again amid his impressive rise to prominence at Newcastle.
