Manchester United's extensive injury list features 10 first-team stars, with Erik ten Hag set to be without several key players for the Red Devils' Premier League clash with Burnley on Saturday.

First-choice centre-back pair Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are both out, while Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans are also unable to feature. To compound their misery at centre-back, academy star Willy Kambwala is a doubt, with Casemiro set to partner Harry Maguire once again.

The picture in forward areas is more positive, but Anthony Martial remains sidelined.

Below, FootballTransfers runs through the latest Man Utd injury update.

Man Utd injuries

Jonny Evans

Veteran defender Jonny Evans suffered a minor knock prior to the most recent international break and he lasted just 21 minutes against Chelsea in April before being forced off again.

The 36-year-old's return date is currently unknown, but he isn't expected to miss too many weeks of action.

Possible Return Date: April

Willy Kambwala

Academy graduate Willy Kambwala stood in against Liverpool and Bournemouth in April but has now picked up a knock of his own, leaving United with one fit centre-back in Maguire.

The club have not confirmed when the French teenager will be available again.

Possible Return Date: Unknown

Victor Lindelof

Victor Lindelof is also expected to miss one month of action due to a muscle injury - although the Sweden international is out with a hamstring problem, rather than a calf one.

He may not play again this season.

Possible Return Date: May

Tyrell Malacia

There has been very little new information regarding Tyrell Malacia’s return over the past few weeks.

The Dutchman was expected to return in January, but he remains absent and may not play again until May. Ten Hag has not stated when Malacia will return, however, the Dutchman recently admitted the ex-Feyenoord defender "had setbacks during his rehab process."

He is yet to play this season and will likely not be rushed back.

Anthony Martial

Martial is set to leave Man Utd when his contract expires this summer, and the Frenchman may well have played his last game for the club if his current injury suffers any setbacks.

The Frenchman has undergone surgery on a groin injury and had been expected to return in April.

However, he is yet to return to training, meaning his actual return date is unknown and he may well have played his last game for the Red Devils.

Possible Return Date: Unknown

Lisandro Martinez

Lisandro Martinez has endured an injury-hit season and is now sidelined through a calf problem.

He had recovered from a ligament knee injury suffered against West Ham in February, but the Argentine is now out after picking up a calf strain in training.

The ex-Ajax defender is expected to return before the end of the season.

Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford has struggled to hit the heights of last season when he scored 30 goals across all competitions, and now an ankle injury is further derailing his progress.

"Marcus is also doubtful," the club confirmed last Sunday. An outing against Crystal Palace next week is a possibility.

Possible Return Date: May

Luke Shaw

After Luke Shaw was substituted at half-time against Aston Villa in February, Ten Hag was quick to ensure that his withdrawal was simply a “precaution” for a player with a “history of too many injuries.”

The England international then started the following match versus Luton before being withdrawn in the first half due to a thigh issue, which has kept him sidelined ever since.

Ten Hag recently admitted that Shaw is expected to return before the end of the season, but his chances of being selected in England's Euro 2024 squad are limited as things stand.

Possible Return Date: May

Raphael Varane

Raphael Varane suffered a muscle injury during Man Utd's 4-3 loss to Chelsea and he was withdrawn after 45 minutes at Stamford Bridge.

He missed the draw against Liverpool and is expected to miss at least a month of action. His season could be over if any setbacks in his recovery occur.
