Manchester City are prepared to go “all out” to sign Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies amid heavy links to Real Madrid, according to reports from Spain.

Pep Guardiola’s side signed Josko Gvardiol for €90 million from RB Leipzig this summer - a world record fee for a defender - but they are reportedly ready to battle Real Madrid in the race to land Davies.

Gvardiol, 21, has been deployed at left-back since joining City, with the Croatia international perfectly fitting the system Guardiola has used over the past year.

However, Man City are now interested in signing Davies to give Guardiola a different profile of left-back and are willing to push hard to secure his signature, according to Fichajes.

The report states that City would be willing to off the Canadian an annual salary of €15m, while Real Madrid can only afford to pay him €8m a year.

Davies’ current contract at Bayern Munich is due to expire in 2025, meaning the Bavarians must either tie him down to a new contract or sell him next year; otherwise they risk losing him for free in 2025.

Despite Man City’s desire to sign Davies, the Bayern star remains Real Madrid’s priority signing for 2024, as per reports.

Real Madrid want Davies

Davies has been linked with Los Blancos for several years but the intensity of these links has picked up in recent weeks.

The Canadian’s agent, Nedal Huoseh, has added fuel to those rumours by admitting that Davies keeps in regular touch with former Bayern teammate and current Real Madrid star David Alaba.

“He played with Alaba for 3 years. They are friends, they talk all the time, the conversations they have together in private. Davies doesn’t share with me all the information about it, but I’m sure David would like to play with him again,” he told 365 Scores via Marca.

Furthermore, according to Marca, Davies is seen as one player that Los Blancos are desperate to sign next year.
