Brentford seal club-record deal for Sangare

Brentford have completed a major midfield signing after beating competition from across Europe.

"One of the stories of the day is Sangare from Lens to Brentford. It's a here we go,” Romano said.

“The player is in England for his medical and contract signing in a deal worth £41 million. It's a club-record signing for Brentford. Sangare is a very talented Malian midfielder who was wanted by several clubs around Europe. The deal is agreed, the player is having his medical, and Sangare will become Brentford's new midfield reinforcement."

Bournemouth complete Antonio Silva signing after Benfica breakthrough

Bournemouth have finally secured one of Europe's most highly rated young defenders.

"Antonio Silva has been linked with several clubs because he has always been regarded as one of the most talented young defenders in Europe. The deal is now done. As revealed earlier, he is joining Bournemouth from Benfica and it's here we go,” Romano confirmed.

"The reason the deal wasn't completed earlier was because Benfica wanted to secure qualification for European football before giving the green light. They won 5-0, qualified, and are now ready to complete the transfer.

"Antonio Silva has travelled for his medical and contract signing. Bournemouth will pay €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons. Good luck to the Portuguese centre-back."

Chelsea prepare more exits as Como push for Chalobah

Chelsea's busy summer continues with departures now becoming the priority after manager Xabi Alonso confirmed that he wants to cut down his squad.

Romano said: "After completing deals for Maxence Lacroix, Daniel Welbeck, Jordan Henderson and Morgan Rogers, Chelsea are now focused on outgoings.

"Como have returned for Trevoh Chalobah with a new offer worth €30 million guaranteed. Previous bids of €25 million plus €5 million in difficult add-ons and €25 million plus €5 million in easier add-ons were rejected. Now they have structured the deal so Chelsea are guaranteed €30 million, even if a very small portion is technically listed as add-ons.

"Como believe this is the best proposal possible at this stage of the market and hope Chelsea will now approve the transfer so Chalobah can complete his medical and sign his contract.

"Chalobah already has an agreement with Como worth €4 million net per season. The contract is ready and the player wants to move to Italy. Everything is agreed on the player's side and now they are waiting for Chelsea.

"Benoit Badiashile is another player who could leave Chelsea in the coming days or weeks. There is interest from France and Italy.

"Napoli have Badiashile on their shortlist after Alessandro Buongiorno suffered an injury. Federico Gatti is another option they are considering, but Badiashile is a genuine possibility. The player would be open to the move because Napoli can offer Champions League football.

"Napoli now need to decide which defender they want, but both Badiashile and Chalobah are expected to leave Chelsea this summer."

Mudryk returns for Chelsea

Chelsea have welcomed Mykhailo Mudryk after nearly two years out.

"The big news for Chelsea is that the situation involving Mykhailo Mudryk has now been resolved. The doping case is behind him and he will travel on Sunday to join Chelsea in Hong Kong for pre-season,” Romano said.

"This is a big opportunity for Mudryk. Chelsea will assess him throughout August before deciding whether to keep him in the squad or potentially send him on loan.

"Mudryk only wants to get back on the pitch with his team-mates and show his quality. He has been training alone for some time and is now ready."

Chelsea assess Enzo Fernandes future

Chelsea also still have an outstanding issue relating to Argentina international midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

Romano said: "There have also been many questions about Enzo Fernandes. As I've always said, forget about Real Madrid because they are no longer part of the conversation.

"Enzo's agent is arriving in Europe after being in the United States for the World Cup. Meetings will take place next week with Chelsea and with Enzo, who is still on holiday, to discuss the next steps.

"It's now August and decisions need to be made. Real Madrid are no longer involved, so we'll see how Chelsea and the player assess the situation."

Arsenal continue Bruno Guimaraes talks after Howe exit

Arsenal remain determined to sign Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle, with Romano refusing to confirm there is a club-to-club agreement.

Romano revealed: "Arsenal are ready to continue negotiations with Newcastle following Eddie Howe's departure.

"They remain in contact with the player's representatives and Bruno Guimaraes wants to join Arsenal. His desire is very clear because he believes Arsenal are the perfect project for him.

"There has already been an agreement with the player for some time. Now Arsenal and Newcastle will continue talks to try to complete the deal. It could happen at any moment, so we have to stay tuned.

"Bruno wants Arsenal and Arsenal want Bruno. Eddie Howe also had the feeling Newcastle would eventually sell Bruno Guimaraes.

"Matthias Jaissle will become the new Newcastle head coach. As previously revealed, that story has now been confirmed."

Ajax complete Ter Stegen and Brandt double coup

Ajax are assembling one of the most eye-catching squads of the summer.

"Ajax have finally completed the signing of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen from Barcelona. It's been a here we go for weeks and only technical details remained,” Romano said.

"Ajax are paying only a small part of Ter Stegen's salary. Completing the transfer from August rather than July also helps financially.

"Ter Stegen is travelling tonight to join Ajax and will be officially unveiled tomorrow as their new goalkeeper.

"Ajax have also completed a surprise deal for Julian Brandt.

"Brandt had been in talks with two English clubs and one Italian club. Leeds United were interested, but he has chosen Ajax instead.

"The contract has been signed until 2029. After bringing in Marcos Leonardo, Toluwalase Arokodare, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and now Julian Brandt, Ajax are building a very interesting squad."
