Jurgen Klopp wants Liverpool to 'loosen purse strings' for Marcos Llorente

Liverpool are looking to improve their midfield options and are targeting an Atletico Madrid star to bolster their choices in that area.
The Reds have struggled in midfield and that has contributed majorly to their poor form over the course of this campaign as they sit in ninth in the Premier League.
In their current squad, they either have too many ageing players, those with a poor injury record and a few inexperienced names, leaving them troubled in that area.

However, that could change soon as they are targeting a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente to help their cause.

The 27-year-old has been a key figure for Diego Simeone’s team over the years but Jurgen Klopp has asked his club to make a move for the player and wants his club to 'loosen the purse strings'.
According to Fichajes, Atletico Madrid are under serious financial pressure and while they wouldn’t want to lose Llorente in normal circumstances, this matter may be beyond their control.

Atletico Madrid recently exited the Champions League at the group stage and that has increased the financial burden on them and they may have to sell to make up for losses.
There have been other players linked to the midfield role at Liverpool including the likes of Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, Guido Rodriguez and more, and Llorente is the latest one added to the list.
It’s believed Atletico Madrid have six players they can sell to make a good sum of money and while Llorente isn’t one of them, the club may be forced to accept any offer for him.

Llorente can play in multiple roles, either as a central midfielder, just behind the forward or sometimes even contribute in attack and his versatility is admired.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool move for him or wait to make a bigger offer for other players, but what is clear is that they need midfield reinforcements.
