Chelsea's €320m double swoop for England stars

Chelsea are planning a double swoop for a pair of English midfielders, both of whom impressed in England’s World Cup opener against Iran on Monday.
The Blues are in need of improving their midfield as they face the possibility of losing both Jorginho and N’Golo Kante on free transfers at the end of the season.
That would leave them massively understaffed in that position with Mateo Kovacic the only one who has been consistent in that position over the years.

Now, they are working for the future and are targeting mega deals for two players: West Ham United’s Declan Rice and Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.

Rice has been of interest to Chelsea for quite a long time having played there as a youngster before being released and having a starring career at West Ham.
He has since become their most important player and has been a major part of
England squads at two major international competitions, including this World Cup.

Bellingham, meanwhile, has had a stellar rise at Borussia Dortmund since joining them from Birmingham City two years ago and only continues to get better.
He is set to have the transfer saga of 2023 with several clubs interested in him along with Chelsea such as Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid.
It’s believed that Chelsea will have to go big to acquire both of them next year – it’ll cost a total of €320 million to land both players and give a significant facelift to the Chelsea midfield.

Chelsea haven’t been afraid to spend big under new owner Todd Boehly in recent times and spent the biggest amount of any club in history in a single transfer window this past summer.
They ended up signing nine players and would be prepared to do that again in order to continue improving their team for the future.
