Liverpool 1st, Chelsea 2nd: Which teams have spent the most on transfers this summer?
Liverpool spent the most money on new signings of any club in world football during the 2025 summer transfer window.
Following their triumph during the 2024-25 Premier League season, the Reds backed Arne Slot in the market with several high-profile signings as they look to defend their crown.
Liverpool broke their club record twice to sign Florian Wirtz for €125 million and Alexander Isak for €145m, the latter being the most expensive transfer in British football history.
They also purchased Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni and Armin Pesci, amounting to a whopping total of €482.9m.
Chelsea, who have been serial spenders under the BlueCo consortium ownership, racked up the second-highest expenditure during the summer window.
Enzo Maresca’s side spent a combined €328.2m on the signings of Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho, Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Estevao Willian, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez.
Arsenal sit in third place with an outlay of €293.5m, courtesy of the arrivals of Martin Zubimendi, Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Newcastle United skyrocketed up this list in the final days of the summer window by signing Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa, taking their overall spend to €288.9m. Anthony Elanga, Jacob Ramsey and Malick Thiaw also joined.
Despite heading into the summer on a reported budget of just €100m, Man Utd shelled out €250.7m on Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Senne Lammens and Diego Leon.
In sixth place is Nottingham Forest, who have purchased Omari Hutchinson, Dan Ndoye, Dilane Bakwa, Arnaud Kalimuendo, James McAtee, Igor Jesus, Jair Cunha, Nicolo Savona, John Victor, Cuiabano and Douglas Luiz (€3m loan fee) for a combined price of €236.9m.
Tottenham sit seventh after pulling off a late-window coup with the signing of Xavi Simons. They spent €210.6m on the Dutchman, Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel, Kevin Danso, Luka Vuskovic, Kota Takai and Joao Palhinha (€5m loan fee).
Manchester City are in eighth place after spending €206.9m on seven new signings: Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Rayan Cherki, James Trafford, Sverre Nypan and Marcus Bettinelli.
Bayer Leverkusen are the only non-Premier League side in the top 10, having been forced to spend big after a talent exodus of almighty proportions. €198.2m was spent on a whopping 13 new recruits.
Sunderland showed major ambition in the market following their promotion back to the Premier League by splurging €187.9m on new additions. The Black Cats shattered their transfer record twice and rounded out the top 10 of the summer's biggest spenders.
