Alexander Isak in Chelsea transfer twist as deal 'agreed'
Alexander Isak is reportedly set to play a key role for Chelsea during the final week of the 2025 summer transfer window.
The Sweden international is desperate to join Liverpool before the end of Transfer Deadline Day on 1 September, but Newcastle United are reluctant to sanction a sale unless they receive an offer in the region of €174 million (£150m).
Liverpool are currently unwilling to match this valuation and the prospective transfer has been on hold for several weeks as a result.
Isak is still yet to feature for Newcastle this season and widespread reports claim that he will never play for the club again, even if his dream move to Liverpool fails to materialise this summer.
However, Liverpool and Newcastle aren’t the only clubs impacted by the ongoing saga involving Isak as Chelsea are keeping a close eye on the situation.
That is according to The Athletic, who state that Chelsea are waiting to see how Isak’s saga plays out as it will have an impact on their “bargaining position” regarding their asking price for Jackson.
The 24-year-old is set to leave Chelsea this summer, after being deemed surplus to requirements following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, but the Blues haven’t been able to sanction a sale thus far and they are now eager to see if Liverpool are able to sign Isak.
Bayern Munich ‘agree’ deal with Nicolas Jackson
With Newcastle currently unconvinced by a move for Jackson and Aston Villa yet to submit a suitable offer for the Senegal striker, Bayern Munich appear to have raced into the lead for his signature.
The reigning Bundesliga champions are determined to sign a new forward after failing to finalise a deal with Stuttgart for Nick Woltemade, and they have now reached an agreement on personal terms with Jackson.
That is according to BILD, who claim that Bayern are now determined to agree a deal with Chelsea. However, they want to sign Jackson on loan, which is likely to be opposed by the hierarchy at Stamford Bridge.
Jackson has scored 30 goals in 81 games for Chelsea, but he is expected to leave the west London giants this summer, despite the fact that his current contract doesn’t expire until 2033.
