Enzo Maresca’s side beat Real Betis in the Europa Conference League final in May to earn their first piece of silverware since BlueCo’s arrival in 2022, and they stunned the world with a mesmeric performance over Luis Enrique's men.

A brace from Cole Palmer, featuring two identical finishes, put Chelsea 2-0 up, before new signing Joao Pedro added a third following a neat through ball from the England international.

The west London side headed into the tie as major underdogs, but they upset the odds and guaranteed their status as the world's best team.

With a prize pot of $1 billion (around €850m) available at the Club World Cup, it was an extremely lucrative competition for those involved - especially Chelsea.

Chelsea’s Club World Cup prize money

Chelsea’s win over PSG means they earned roughly €97m (£84m) through Club World Cup prize money.

The Blues earned a participation fee of €24.6m, while they made an additional €72.4m through performance prize money.

Their earnings were unsurprisingly the highest of any participating club, with runners-up PSG making roughly €90.5m.

Chelsea’s Club World Cup results

Chelsea began their Club World Cup campaign with a 2-0 win over LAFC, thanks to goals from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez.

They subsequently suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat to Flamengo, despite leading 1-0 at half-time, before running out 3-0 winners over ES Tunis in their final group stage match. Liam Delap netted his first Chelsea goal against the Tunisian side, while Tosin Adarabioyo and Tyrique George were also on the scoresheet.

Chelsea then beat Benfica 4-1 in their first knockout tie, although they required extra-time to see off the Portuguese giants, before emerging 2-1 victors over Palmeiras in the quarter-finals.

Fluminense were downed 2-0 in the semi-final, thanks to a Joao Pedro brace, while PSG were no match for Maresca's side as Palmer inspired the Blues to a 3-0 win in the final.
