Fabrizio Romano Transfer News: Nico Williams blows Arsenal and Chelsea away after TENSE update

Fabrizio Romano has provided some massive updates on the biggest transfer stories from around Europe, including the latest on Viktor Gyokeres, Nico Williams and Chelsea.
Romano gives worrying Gyokeres update
The situation between Viktor Gyokeres and Sporting is now ‘tense’ according to Romano, with the Portuguese side refusing to honour an agreement between the striker and former director Hugo Viana to allow him to leave for €65 million this summer, instead wanting closer to €80 or €85m.
Romano said: “Gyokeres is really not happy with the situation and also disappointed because he always gave his best to Sporting in terms of goals, assists, performances, leadership, trophies, but he doesn’t want to leave the club in a bad way or in a bad mood. So, at the moment, the situation is quite tense between player side and Sporting.

“He's still in the list at Arsenal. There is Manchester United calling on daily basis. There are calls from Italy, also from Juventus, but it's complicated financially to make it happen unless they find a solution for Dusan Vlahovic.”
Bayern set to launch huge Nico Williams offer
Bayern Munich are prepared to ‘go strong’ to sign Nico Williams after missing out on Florian Wirtz to Liverpool and seeing Leroy Sane join Galatasaray.
However, the deal ‘will not be easy’ due to the finances required, while Williams has also yet to decide if he is ready to leave Athletic Club, with a bumper new contract extension also on the table.
Romano said: “Athletic Club are prepared to offer Williams an important new contract in case he decides to stay at the club. Nico is already requesting important money in terms of salary.
“But imagine that he would have on the table a new contract proposal with a better salary from Athletic. So this is why the story for Bayern is not easy, but they want to try and so let's see what happens there.
“There is also interest from Arsenal and from Chelsea but both English clubs feel that financially in terms of salary this deal is really complicated.”
Barcelona consider surprise Perisic pursuit
Romano also revealed that veteran winger Ivan Perisic is being discussed as a potential signing this summer for Barcelona if they are unable to sign their ‘dream’ target Luis Diaz, while Marcus Rashford is also an option.
He said: “Ivan Perisic is one of the options being discussed internally at Barcelona. The dream is Luis Diaz, but at the moment he is still too expensive. Marcus Rashford is still an option on the list of Barcelona with a player very keen on the move. But in case they decide to go for a low cost option, Perisic is still a free agent.

“Perisic has a new contract proposal from PSV on the table which he’s ready to sign but he’s waiting for Barca. He is appreciated by Hansi Flick, who likes his leadership and the numbers, who is not young but still performing as a top winger on the international stage. It’s a possibility but not close.”
Chelsea set for mass outgoings.
Romano confirmed that Joao Felix, Raheem Sterling, Axel Disasi and Ben Chilwell are all ‘on the market’ at Chelsea, while Kendry Paez and Matias Amagou could go on loan to Strasbourg along with Dorde Petrovic.
“There are several things to discuss with these players, but not seeing them at the Club World Cup sends a strong message. Let me also clarify that Wesley Fofana didn't travel because he's still recovering from his injury and Chelsea want the player to focus on his recovery and to be back for the start of the new season in the best conditions possible.
“But for all the others, especially Felix, Chillwell, Sterling, Disasi, all these players are no longer part of the project.
“So many players made available by Chelsea and for sure many situations to watch in the next days with several movements around the Blues because we always speak about the signings about the targets by Chelsea more but they are also working now on the outgoings.”
