Rangers reach verbal agreement to complete striker signing
Rangers have reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign Hansa Rostock striker Ryan Naderi this summer.
The 22-year-old has been identified as a key target by Danny Rohl’s side in recent weeks and reports in Germany suggest he has handed in a transfer request in a bid to force through a move to Ibrox before the end of Deadline Day.
However, Hansa Rostock have been reluctant to sanction a mid-season sale and Rangers have seen bids worth €3 million and €3.6m rejected by the German third division side. Meanwhile, they blocked negotiations over a winter deal last week.
Despite this, Sky Sports now report that a verbal agreement has been reached for Naderi to join Rangers following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season. Progress has been made over a summer deal, with the 22-year-old forward keen to test himself at Ibrox.
Naderi has scored eight goals and provided five assists in 18 league matches so far this season and he is expected to become the most expensive ever departure from any senior team in the German third tier.
Rangers eye new striker
With a move for Naderi delayed until this summer, Rangers are now exploring a potential loan deal for Southampton striker Cameron Archer.
The former Aston Villa star has only started six Championship games this term, while he has netted on four occasions in 23 matches across all competitions in 2025-26.
However, Southampton are close to selling Adam Armstrong to Wolverhampton Wanderers on a permanent deal and this could prove to be an obstacle if the Saints opt to keep Archer as a result.
So far this window, Rangers have already completed the signing of SK Sturm Graz midfielder Tochi Chukwuani (€4.6m), KVC Westerlo defender Tuur Rommens (€3.6m) and VfL Wolfsburg winger Andreas Skov Olsen (loan), but Rohl remains eager to bolster his forward line.
