EXCLUSIVE: Beale on the brink as Rangers line up Potter and Wilder
Michael Beale is on the brink of losing his job at Rangers and the club are already looking at candidates to replace him, FootballTransfers can reveal.
It is believed that these names make up two of the four possible replacements the side are looking at, though the club feel that Potter might be financially out of reach.
There is real concern among club personnel about the tactics set out by Beale while the club’s upcoming game in the Scottish Premiership against St. Johnstone is considered a must-win for the coach.
Beale paying the price for poor recruitment
We are told that the squad is unsettled, while Scott Wright’s exit from the club was blocked.
Beale has had a large say in recruitment over the summer but the board are unsatisfied with the direction in which the club are directing, we have been told.
The club have not replaced Ross Wilson, who left for Nottingham Forest as a sporting director, and so it’s been Beale and chief scout John Park who have been leading that department.
A 1-0 defeat at Ibrox against their inner-city rivals means the Gers are four points off the top of the table after four games with just two wins.
They were also knocked out of the Champions League in the preliminary stages via an aggregate 7-3 humiliation to PSV last week.
It comes after the Daily Record’s story which stated that Rangers have started a major overhaul of their scouting and player recruitment departments.
The club said that the operation had nothing to do with recent results and that it was a way to strengthen the business, with more focus on data and analysis.
