Kylian Mbappe contract offer 'something never seen before'

Kylian Mbappe has been offered "something incredible" by Paris Saint-Germain as the club look to ward off Real Madrid's interest in their star player, according to a report in France.

Mbappe is out of contract with PSG in the summer and has thus far refused to sign an extension.

Real Madrid are the bookies' favourites to acquire the player next summer, but he has already spurned them twice, most famously U-turning in May 2022 after coming to a verbal agreement with Florentino Perez.

Real reportedly imposed a two-week deadline for Mbappe to accept their terms, and clubs from the Premier League and Saudi Pro League are also now at the table as the player explores his options.

But it is effectively a two-horse race between PSG and Real, according to RMC journalist Daniel Rolo.

PSG offer 'will far exceed €100m'

"It would be something never seen before, something incredible," he told After Foot. "[PSG's] offer far exceeds €100 million per season, something that no club will ever be able to match: benefits for his brother [Ethan Mbappe], a player agency that his mother [Fayza Lamari] wants to create. Frankly, it's something incredible.

"On the other hand is an offer which is 'normal' - or normal for Real Madrid. A salary for footballing stars, perhaps €30m or a bit more. And he wouldn't be the king of the club. They'll basically bring him back down to earth. Mbappe's in the middle and has to choose…"

Mbappe's basic take-home pay might not exceed that, but if he secured the future of younger brother Ethan, a 17-year-old midfielder just out of the academy, and his mother's agency that he could one day inherit…
