Paris Saint-Germain have accepted Al-Hilal's record-smashing offer for Kylian Mbappe, according to Sky Sports.

The Saudi giants launched an audacious bid for the Frenchman in the wake of his being exiled from the Parisians' squad. PSG barred Mbappe from travelling to Japan with the rest of the team and transfer-listed him.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made it in no uncertain terms clear that Mbappe will get sold this summer unless he decides to put pen to paper on a new contract. With the 24-year-old refusing to do so, PSG are working on engineering his departure.

Al-Hilal's bid has come at the perfect time for the French megaclub: they will not lose Mbappe for free next summer and will even pocket a world-record fee. No wonder, then, that they have now accepted the offer.

"The French champions have given the Saudi club permission to speak to Mbappe," according to Sky Sports. It will now be up to Al-Hilal and Mbappe to reach an agreement on personal terms, but no talks between the player and the Pro League club have yet taken place, claims Fabrizio Romano.

The details

Initial reports suggested that the deal on offer for PSG and Mbappe would be a €300m transfer fee - smashing the record set by PSG when they signed Neymar for €222m - and a €700m salary for one season, which would allow him to get his dream move to Real Madrid next year.

But Romano claims that this salary is unrealistic and that only the whole financial package on offer, including commercial revenues, could come close to this figure.

The Italian transfer expert speaks of a net salary of €200m with Mbappe's image rights remaining with the player to make the offer more attractive, which is something that many high-profile athletes now insist on when they move.

It remains to be seen if Al-Hilal can convince Mbappe to come to the Saudi Pro League for one season.
