They have poured billions into the club, smashing transfer record after transfer record in search of the mythical trophy.

However, despite dominating Ligue 1 with eight titles in 10 years, they have fallen embarrassingly short when it comes to the Champions League.

They were eliminated at the quarter-final stage four years in a row before then being knocked out in the last-16 three seasons on the bounce.

PSG have become renowned for a string of spectacular collapses in knockout matches, including last season when they seemed to be strolling into the quarters versus Real Madrid before the eventual winners launched a stunning comeback to go through.

His contract expires at the end of the current season, with PSG desperate to renew his deal.

Barcelona want to bring the 35-year-old back to Camp Nou, while Inter Miami want to take him to the United States.

L’Equipe report that Messi is determined to not leave PSG until he wins that elusive Champions League for PSG.

That spells bad news for Barca and Inter Miami, as PSG’s Champions League curse suggests he is going to be at the Parc des Princes for a long time!
