Paris Saint-Germain’s summer transfer window was one of the most remarkable in history as they signed up an array of high-profile talent, headlined by Lionel Messi.
The investment in the squad is testimony to the ongoing desire of the club’s owners to win the Champions League title, having reached the final in 2020 and then the semi-finals in 2021.
Meanwhile, they retained all of their top stars, including Kylian Mbappe, who they turned down a €200 million bid from Real Madrid for on Deadline Day.

Lionel Messi’s move to PSG was one of the headline stories of the summer transfer window, as the Ligue 1 side were quick to pounce after it became evident that Barcelona could no longer afford to keep the six-time Ballon d’Or winner.
PSG have become just Messi’s second club.
Meanwhile, the Parisians were similarly opportunistic to sign Donnarumma from Milan as he could not agree new terms there and Wijnaldum from Liverpool as Barca failed to get the deal over the line.
Sergio Ramos is expected to provide experience in the backline, with the central defender’s winning mentality seen as a major boost for the club.
The arrival of Nuno Mendes from Sporting is an exciting one to fill a problem left-back role, while Danilo Pereira has only been signed because of the terms of his loan deal last season.
