Now that the domestic season is over for all major European leagues, clubs can now focus on their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, with a natural focus on recruitment.

Article continues under the video

The big spenders will be out in force again, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have announced the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, though they missed out on Liam Delap, who has joined Chelsea.

With the Club World Cup on the horizon, we will likely see big deals completed earlier than usual from Europe's elite.

That competition begins on Saturday, 14th June.

Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:

  • How can Man City replace Kevin De Bruyne?
  • Will Rodrygo leave Real Madrid?
  • How much can Barcelona spend?
  • Will top players want to join Man Utd?
  • Will Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

Chelsea and Forest want Fofana

Chelsea and Nottingham Forest are interested in Lyon winger Malik Fofana.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a productive season in Ligue 1 in 2024/25 with five goals and four assists to his name.

Lyon's financial situation means they may be forced to sell some of their prized assets - like Rayan Cherki to Man City - and Fofana has an Estimated Transfer Value of €29.8 million.

Juve look to tempt Gyokeres with big wage

Juventus will look to tempt Viktor Gyokeres to Turin with an offer of £11 million per season in wages.

The Swedish striker will likely leave Sporting CP this summer after reportedly falling out with the club hierarchy after a "gentlemen's agreement" was allegedly broken.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd remain interested in Gyokeres but so far no deal has materalised, with Sporting holding out for close to his €100 million release clause. (Mirror)

Tottenham to approach Rennes over Kalimuendo

Tottenham are keen to add more firepower to their attack this summer and could look to Ligue 1, with Arnaud Kalimuendo said to be a prime target.

The Rennes striker scored 17 goals in 33 games in the French top flight last season.

It would apparently take a "substantial" fee for Rennes to consider selling the forward, though his Estimated Transfer Value currently sits at €24.7 million. (L'Equipe)

Newcastle target two exciting signings

Newcastle are interested in signing Joao Pedro from Brighton and Ousmane Diomande from Sporting.

The Telegraph reports that the club have already opened talks with Brighton over Pedro, who is valued at around £60 million, while their pursuit of Diomande hasn't got that far, as of yet.

Pedro scored 10 goals and provided six assists for the Seagulls this past season.

Walker to leave City for Everton

Kyle Walker is set to sign for Everton.

The Man City right back, now 35, spent last season on loan at Milan in what was an underwhelming spell with the Serie A giants who failed to qualify for Europe.

He still has one year left on his deal at the Etihad but don't expect City to ask Everton for a significant transfer fee, while there is a possibility Walker may leave for the Toffees on a season-long loan. (Sun)
