Robert Lewandowski remains Hansi Flick’s preferred striker at Camp Nou, but the Poland legend has been widely tipped to leave the club on a Bosman deal when his current contract expires at the end of June.

Rumours have suggested that Lewandowski may pen fresh terms with the Blaugrana for another season, however a move to the MLS seems his most likely next step and Barcelona are already planning for life after the 37-year-old.

With Ferran Torres also potentially set to depart the club, Barca are actively pursuing a new centre forward and they have been linked with a number of options in recent weeks, including Julian Alvarez, Fisnik Asllani, Serhou Guirassy and Dusan Vlahovic.

Despite their financial issues, Barcelona are expected to sign a striker this summer and they have now been given further incentive to bring a new option to the club.

That is according to Fichajes, who claim that Yamal has requested the Barcelona hierarchy to bring a “top level” centre forward to Camp Nou during the upcoming summer transfer window as he believes this is the main issue that needs to be fixed.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly plotting a monumental offer worth €350 million for the Spain wonderkid and while Yamal wants to stay at Barcelona, he could be tempted to depart if the club refuse to match his ambitions in the transfer market.

The 18-year-old has scored 21 goals and provided 16 assists so far this season, and he has been tentatively linked with a blockbuster move to PSG for several months, despite the plethora of attacking talent already at the Parc des Princes.

Barcelona, however, have absolutely no interest in losing their most prized asset and they remain in a strong negotiating position thanks to the fact that his current contract at Camp Nou isn’t due to expire until 2031.
