Real Madrid are reportedly eager to beat Chelsea to the signing of Vasco da Gama wonderkid Rayan by lodging a €50 million bid for his services.

The Brazil U20 forward is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in world football and his development is being closely monitored by the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and Inter Milan.

Real Madrid are also interested in signing the 19-year-old and they are now ready to accelerate their pursuit of his signature by submitting a €50m transfer offer.

That is according to Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that Xabi Alonso’s side are the “clear favourites” to sign Rayan next year.

Los Blancos have reportedly been tracking his progress for several months and they are eager to step up talks over a possible deal as they look to fight off significant competition from across Europe.

Rayan, who is capable of playing across the forward line but is mostly frequently deployed as a right winger, has already racked up 96 senior appearances for Vasco da Gama, scoring 23 goals and providing two assists.

Estevao revenge

Real Madrid’s fresh pursuit of Rayan comes after their failure to win the race for Estevao Willian.

The 18-year-old was earmarked as a top target by Los Blancos, however they were unable to finalise a deal with Palmeiras and were beaten to his signature by Chelsea, who reached a pre-agreement to sign the Brazilian last year.

Estevao has caught the eye since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in July, registering a goal contribution every 142 minutes of action for the Blues, and it’s understood that Real Madrid officials are deeply frustrated by their inability to sign him.

Los Blancos have a strong track record of signing talented Brazilian youngsters, with Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Endrick all recent examples, although they famously missed out on Neymar to Barcelona and they are eager to avoid allowing the same thing to happen with Rayan.
