He was one of the stars at the 2022 World Cup before clinching a club record transfer to Real Madrid this past summer, for whom he has enjoyed a sensational start.

Udinese and Slovenia midfielder Lovric was asked by The Italian Football Podcast who he saw as the best player in the world in his position.

What did Sandi Lovric say about Jude Bellingham?

“Right now Jude Bellingham is the best," Lovric told The Italian Football Podcast.

“He is doing some things that nobody else in midfield is doing.

“He is dominating the midfield, he is scoring goals, he has an impressive impact on the team.

“Still he is very young. Right now, he is the very best.”

This past summer Bellingham completed a club record transfer to Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund for a price of around €134m.

And Bellingham is already proving to be worth every penny of this record fee.

He has made the best start to a Real Madrid career that any new signing has perhaps ever made at the Bernabeu.

In his first 14 games for Real Madrid in all competitions in 2023-24, Bellingham has scored a barely believable 13 goals from his attacking midfield position.

These have included a whole host of decisive strikes, including a double in the Clasico to beat Barcelona 2-1 at Camp Nou on Saturday.
