Kylian Mbappe has been given a one-week ultimatum to decide on his Paris Saint-Germain future, according to sensational reports in Spain.

The Frenchman was banished over the summer once it was revealed that he would not trigger his one-year extension, meaning that he will be free to leave PSG in the summer. However, after indicating that an extension on a renegotiated deal is not out of the question, he was brought back into the fold.

But as things stand, he still has not put pen to paper on a fresh contract and time is slowly but surely running out for PSG. In light of this, Sport now claims that the 24-year-old has been given a one-week deadline to accept a new and final proposal from the Ligue 1 giants.

Rejecting the offer, it is asserted, will officially end the relationship between PSG and the player and he will definitely depart for nothing in 2024. Real Madrid are his obvious destination, but Los Blancos are not worrying about the prospect of a potential extension.

The Spanish side feel that they have the upper hand. Real fans have already forgotten about Mbappe and demand a proper number nine in the form of Erling Haaland instead, while the stunning success of Jude Bellingham has taken the pressure off Los Blancos to bring in another megastar. They feel that Mbappe needs Real more than Real need Mbappe.

Mbappe's new contract

The above-mentioned report claims that what PSG are offering is just a one-year extension with a release clause below his valuation so as to still allow him to leave next summer but without the Parisians going empty-handed.

Sport uses the recent comments by a Real Madrid board member openly talking about signing Mbappe as proof that Los Blancos are already readying an approach behind the scenes.

The Spanish outlet also claims that it can't be ruled out that Madrid, PSG and Mbappe will come together to agree on a course of action that is in the interest of all parties. Mbappe's future could be decided as early as November if the report is to be believed.
