Marcus Rashford has learned his punishment for breaking the rules at Barcelona, where the Spanish club are already studying the possibility of allowing a summer signing to leave.

The Catalans had to be careful in the transfer market due to Financial Fair Play restrictions and were limited to just a handful of arrivals. The highest profile of these was Rashford on loan from Manchester United.

Rashford has had a mixed start at Camp Nou and was reprimanded by head coach Hansi Flick for being late for a team meeting prior to Sunday’s La Liga game against Getafe.

Mundo Deportivo reports that he was two minutes late for the meeting and befell the same punishment that Flick has given to the likes of Jules Kounde and Raphinha for the same thing.

Unless Rashford repeats his error, there is no prospect of Barcelona taking the issue any further.

There had also been reports that Rashford might be sent back to Man Utd after a couple of disappointing performances to start off his time in Spain. These have since been rubbished.

Bardghji set for January loan

Barcelona are instead linked with a potential loan deal for Roony Bardghji.

The 19-year-old Swede arrived in a €2.5 million deal from FC Copenhagen but has had a difficult start to life with the Blaugrana. Initially, the club struggled to register him and were ultimately forced to do so as a reserve team player. This decision could potentially limit how much first-team action he sees.

Despite strong performances in the club’s pre-season friendlies, Bardghji has only featured for 60 minutes since the season kicked off.

Fichajes reports that he could be allowed to leave on loan in January to get more playing time, with Borussia Dortmund having expressed an interest to sign him.

Bardghji is said to be open to the move, aware that he faces the possibility of stagnating at Barcelona if he is not given first-team opportunities.

Dortmund could provide him with these chances. Although the Bundesliga side have started the season well, they have room for improvement offensively.
