Barcelona confirmed the signing of Robert Lewandowski over the weekend following weeks of discussions with Bayern Munich over the future of the Polish forward.

The Blaugrana have been in a difficult financial position, which caused delays in the move and their ability to meet Bayern’s asking price, but they finally got the deal over the line.

Now, though, there are new fears over the deal, despite the fact that his signing has been announced by the club on their website and social media channels.

Barcelona postpone Lewandowski presentation

Lewandowski has travelled to Miami, where Barcelona are based on their pre-season tour, and has even met up with club President Joan Laporta, taking part in official club photos.

As they have done with the likes of Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen and Raphinha this summer, the club planned a schedule with Lewandowski to announce his arrival to the fans and media.

However, they have now postponed some of those activities, which has raised concerns over the completion of the deal and adding fears over the transfer.

The club are yet to communicate a new schedule for the presentation of the player, and the presentation is a tradition for any new player at Barcelona.

Barcelona will want to make the occasion a memorable one, as he is their biggest signing in several years, and coming at a time of great difficulty for the club.

The Blaugrana have struggled greatly with financial issues and that has been reflected in their performances on the pitch in recent times, but there is optimism under Xavi.

Having already completed three signings this season, and Lewandowski being the fourth, they are hoping to add in a few more faces ahead of the start of the season.
