Arsenal unlikely to sign Barcola & Rogers in one window

Arsenal stand a “chance” of signing Bradley Barcola, according to BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel, but the club are unlikely to pursue the Paris Saint-Germain winger in the same window as Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.

Widespread reports have indicated the Gunners are looking to build on their Premier League title success last season by signing a new left winger ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

When asked about the prospect of Barcola joining Arsenal in the summer, BBC Sport reporter Mokbel told Latte Firm’s YouTube channel: “There’s a chance. I think they wouldn’t sign Morgan Rogers and Bradley Barcola in the same window.

“Never say never, I could obviously fall flat on my face with this, I’d say it would be difficult to do both [in the same window]. Because both of those deals would be expensive and Arsenal have other areas they need to strengthen, they will need a full-back [and] they will need a central midfielder.”

Gunners are also keen on landing Bournemouth star Scott

In the same interview with Latte Firm, BBC Sport’s Mokbel also confirmed Arsenal “certainly have interest” in Alex Scott amid speculation linking the Bournemouth star with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Scott has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most promising midfielders after playing a significant role in helping the Cherries qualify for next season’s Europa League by finishing sixth in 2025-26.

The Athletic revealed earlier in the week that Arsenal admire the 22-year-old, who has also been linked with Manchester United, though Bournemouth are reportedly keen to keep hold of him.

When asked about Arsenal’s links to Scott, Mokbel said: “There is certainly interest in Alex Scott from Arsenal. But there are other clubs as well who I understand are making moves towards trying to see if it’s possible to extract him out of Bournemouth this summer, which I understand is going to be a difficult task.

“I think it’s going to take quite a lot of money, upwards of 70million (€80m), I think that would be the minimum perhaps that Bournemouth would consider.”

Rice tasked with aiding Arsenal’s pursuit of Rogers

Arsenal have asked Declan Rice to help convince England team-mate Morgan Rogers to join them instead of Chelsea this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Rogers has developed a reputation as one of Europe’s best attacking midfielders after helping fire Aston Villa to Europa League glory last season, while also playing a key role in England qualifying for this summer's World Cup.

BBC Sport understands Arsenal are keen to sign the 23-year-old, who The Telegraph say is worth in excess of €92m (£80m), while The Athletic claims he is also on Chelsea’s wishlist.

However, the Mail understands Arsenal are now trying to steal a march on Chelsea by deploying Rice as an extra agent in England’s World Cup camp.

Arteta’s side receive fresh competition in Bouaddi race

Arsenal have suffered a blow to their hopes of signing Ayyoub Bouaddi after learning Real Madrid have joined the race for the €70million-rated (£60.6m) midfielder, according to Spanish publication Diario AS.

The 18-year-old has caught the eye with his performances at this summer’s World Cup, delivering a metronomic midfield performance in Morocco’s 1-1 draw with Brazil on 13 June.

Such has been Bouaddi’s impressive form in the middle of the park that Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with his club side Lille over a potential deal, according to The Times, while a separate report from talkSPORT claims the teen sensation holds a valuation of between €60m and €70m (£52m and £60.6m).

However, according to Diario AS, La Liga giants Real are also monitoring developments surrounding Bouaddi, who helped Morocco beat Scotland 1-0 in their Group C clash on Friday.
