Antoine Griezmann's recent woes have gone from bad to worse as Neymar was unveiled as his replacement as the ambassador of console game Pro Evolution Soccer.

Griezmann has been dropped by various endorsements following the release of a video in which he appears to mock Asian culture at a Japanese hotel, leading to widespread condemnation.

All the while, Griezmann's time at Barcelona also appears to be over, as the Spanish giants look to negotiate an exit for the Frenchman, with a mooted swap deal involving Saul from Atletico Madrid recently falling through.

Griezmann had only been announced as Konami's ambassador for the game at the beginning of June, but have moved quickly to find a replacement.

And Konami today announced that Griezmann's replacing as the cover star of the future Pro Evolution Soccer release will be Neymar, ironically a former Barcelona player.

The current PSG and Brazil star said of the deal: ""I am honoured to have signed a contract with Konami.

"I would like to continue to play with passion and generate a lot of enthusiasm in the world of football with the PES and Winning Eleven series!"

Konami said of Griezmann's actions: "We announced in June that Antoine Griezmann would become our content ambassador

"But, in light of recent events, we decided to cancel the contract. Regarding our eFootball PES franchise, we will ask FC Barcelona, as a partner club, to explain the details of this case and its future actions."
