Yaremchuk has taken very well to early life in Portugal, but he remains on the shortlist at a number of clubs around the continent, particularly in England.

With the summer heroics carrying into this season, Yaremchuk is set to continue to go from strength to strength and could find himself making another move rather quickly.

What position does Roman Yaremchuk play in?

Yaremchuk plays as a traditional, out and out striker with height, pace and finishing ability.

How good is Roman Yaremchuk?

To much of the mainstream in football, Yaremchuk would have been a rather unknown quantity at the beginning of Euro 2020.

But many found out fairly quickly who he was. With Ukraine 2-0 down, Yaremchuk teed up Andriy Yarmolenko before stooping to head home an equaliser himself.

While Ukraine went on to lose the game, Yaremchuk had shown his talents in the final third not only in those two key moments, but throughout the 90 minutes with superb hold-up play and terrific technical ability for a man of his stature.

He would score one more goal in the tournament against North Macedonia, starting every game as his nation made it all the way to the quarter-finals, where they lost to eventual finalist England.

That showcase came following two supremely positive seasons in Belgium with Gent. Despite only playing 18 times in the league in the 2019-20 season, Yaremchuk buried 10 goals and went even better the following year.

A brilliant tally of 20 goals and seven assists in 34 league games in 2020-21 sent him into the Euros in top form and already saw interest in him from around Europe.

Yaremchuk is a typical No.9. He is good on the air, strong with his back to goal but also quick off the mark to run in behind and technically able to take part in build-up sequences through the middle of the pitch.

His start at Benfica has brought about four goals in eight games in the Portuguese top flight, showing he has the ability to take the next step at a higher level.

A number of clubs remain in for him to potentially pry him away from Estadio da Luz, as his reputation continues to grow.
