Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has given a hint of a possible extension at Manchester City after his side’s recent win over Fulham.

Guardiola has been successful in his time at Manchester City having joined six-and-a-half years ago – back in 2016 – and has suggested he could stay on for longer.

In his time, he has won the Premier League title on four occasions as well as several other cup honours, making him the club’s most successful head coach ever.

Now, he has spoken about the enthusiasm he gets from his players, and that may encourage him to stay at the Etihad Stadium for longer.

Guardiola enjoying City enthusiasm

This is the longest spell at one club for Guardiola, with his stints at Barcelona and Bayern Munich being four years and three years respectively.

He has now said he gets the right energy to keep going and that has hinted at a possible extension at Manchester City.

He said: “I give them enthusiasm — but they give it to me. The way they play, what I saw for 65 minutes, I see the faces of our people, they give me the energy for the future, for Chelsea and Brentford.

“There are things you cannot see, like how happy they were in locker room and the training was perfect — even the guys who didn’t play were amazing in training.

“That made me think we are there. That makes me feel really happy, we are able to do it all together and that’s really good.”

City will play Brentford in the Premier League next weekend and that will be their last game before the World Cup break, before they return to action on Boxing Day.

In that time, Manchester City are expected to travel to Abu Dhabi for a mid-season training camp in the warm weather, and Guardiola could discuss an extension then.
