Michael Olise checks out Liverpool as Reds find worthy Salah successor
Liverpool have been handed a major transfer update on Michael Olise, with the Reds’ dream target having sent his family to check out their Premier League clash against Brighton.
Olise has been earmarked as the dream long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah at Anfield, with the Egypt international now expected to depart in the summer.
The France international has been in sparkling form since moving to Bayern Munich, and while the Bundesliga side are determined to retain the Ballon d’Or contender, they face increasing pressure from a Liverpool side that showed last summer that they are not afraid to spend big money on world-leading stars.
Olise’s family keeping tabs on Liverpool
Indykaila, a group of anonymous transfer journalists, report on X that Olise’s family are present in Brighton for the match and confirms that Liverpool see the 24-year-old as the perfect replacement for Salah.
The update shows that those close to Olise are at least keeping an eye on developments at Liverpool, even if a move may not necessarily be close.
And a transfer will be difficult to broker for a player whose Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has rocketed to €128m in recent months.
Sky Sport Deutschland reported at the beginning of March that a deal is “unrealistic”. Olise is under contract with Bayern until 2029 and does not have a release clause in his contract. With Bayern adamant that they want to open talks over a new deal with the right winger, he is simply not up for sale.
Why Olise is Liverpool’s dream target
Olise is one of the most devastating wingers in world football, with an outrageous output this season. He has scored 15 goals and laid on 23 more across 15 games. He has already eclipsed the 35 goal contributions he made last term in what was a highly impressive debut season with Bayern.
And the most exciting thing about Olise is that his ceiling is so high.
According to the analysis of SciSports, only Barcelona pair Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi have a higher potential than the former Crystal Palace player.
Olise has a maximum SciSkill estimate of 149.9, which is calculated using hundreds of in-game data points. This rating would make him the best player in the world if he had it currently.
Even now, with a score of 134.2, he is rated as the world’s fourth-best player behind team-mates Luis Diaz and Harry Kane, as well as Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
Olise, therefore, would be a worthy successor to Salah at Liverpool, even if the deal will be tough to strike.
