Barcelona will go all in on signing Bernardo Silva, according to Spanish media.

The Manchester City star is once again being courted by the Spanish champions. Xavi is a long-time admirer of the Portuguese and already tried to lure him to the Camp Nou last year.

Perennially cash-strapped Barcelona have, however, thus far struggled to muster the required resources to be able to make the English treble winners an adequate offer.

Silva himself would be open to the move. He has often been rumoured to be keen on a change of scenery and he even admitted that the Premier League has become boring back in May.

Asked by France Football what he likes doing least on the pitch, he said: "The thing I like doing least is the thing I do most. The most boring matches are the games against teams that play with 10 defenders. And against us, it’s often like that."

Barcelona's offer

The sales of Ousmane Dembele to Paris Saint-Germain and Franck Kessie to Al-Ahli as well as the potential exit of Clement Lenglet could change the situation. With the money raised from these departures, Barcelona will give signing Silva another go.

According to SPORT, "Barça is going to try, although they see the operation as practically impossible." Silva must help the operation by handing in a transfer request, however.

"At Barça," they continue, "an economic scenario has been drawn up counting the money generated with the sales...and an attempt will be made to make a maximum offer in which the final limit can be met without exceeding it."

"The maximum and calculated Blaugrana proposal will be around €65 million fixed plus €10m in variables that are almost mandatory." How realistic this approach is remains to be seen, but if it does indeed materialise, it seems unlikely that Barcelona will also be able to sign City's Joao Cancelo, who is Xavi's priority target at right-back.
