Marcus Rashford has had the opportunity to celebrate on a regular basis in recent weeks, with the Manchester United forward catching fire to become one of the form players in world football.

Rashford has scored 10 goals in 10 Premier League matches since returning from the World Cup and has also found the net in the FA Cup and four times in the League Cup as United have reached Sunday’s final against Newcastle.

Rio reveals meaning behind Rashford's goal celebration

Now Rio Ferdinand, himself a Man Utd legend, has explained what Rashford’s celebration means, with the winger pointing to his head after each goal.

“The celebration, it's mentality. Nice and simple. But it's travelled massively. Everyone around the world is doing it now. All the young kids scoring goals, that's the impact Rashford has had,” he claimed on his YouTube show Five after visiting the club’s training ground at Carrington on Monday.

“Seeing Marcus just smiling – I’ve said this so many times – just seeing him smile, there’s a different vibe about him. He’s enjoying himself, there’s a spring in his step. I had a nice chat. Nice vibes in the place.”

Rashford is under contract at Man Utd until 2024, which has led to speculation over his future.

However, amid his excellent run of form, this has quelled. Previously, there had been suggestions that it might be time for the player to change clubs as he had netted only four times and created two assists in the first 14 league matches of the season.

Rashford has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €54 million, yet that is set to increase due to his ongoing strong form. It will also jump significantly if and when he signs a new Man Utd contract as he is vulnerable to being sold with a year and a half left on his current deal.
