Pau Cubarsi wanted

Arsenal are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Barcelona wonderkid Pau Cubarsi, whose current contract at Camp Nou includes a €500 million release clause.

The Spain international, 19, is already considered to be one of the best central defenders in world football and Hansi Flick’s side are planning on offering him a new and improved contract shortly, with his current deal due to expire in 2029.

The Blaugrana have no intention of allowing the teenager to depart Camp Nou, but Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester City are all keeping tabs on his situation, as per a shock report from CaughtOffside.

It’s claimed that a deal is unlikely to take place this summer, however all four clubs are known admirers of the 19-year-old and will be ready to pounce if Barcelona are able to finalise a contract extension agreement with the defender.

Myles Lewis-Skelly to Atletico Madrid?

Atletico Madrid have reportedly joined the race to sign Arsenal wonderkid Myles Lewis-Skelly, who could leave the north London giants later this year.

The England defender has fallen behind Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori in the left-back pecking order this season and rumours indicate that a permanent Emirates Stadium exit could be on the cards.

Chelsea and Everton have both been linked with a move for Lewis-Skelly, while Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing him.

That is according to Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that Arsenal value the 19-year-old at €50m. Atleti may even reportedly offer Arsenal the chance to sign Robin Le Normand in exchange for Lewis-Skelly as they look to keep costs to a minimum.

Julian Alvarez latest

Arsenal sent scouts to watch Julian Alvarez in action against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, as per TEAMtalk.

The Argentina superstar is one of Arsenal’s top targets for this summer and they are among the clubs keeping close tabs on his situation at Atletico Madrid, alongside Barcelona and Chelsea.

A move to Camp Nou is believed to be Alvarez’s preference, but he is open to returning to the Premier League, and Arsenal will be confident of beating Chelsea to his signature when the upcoming transfer window opens.

Alvarez has scored 46 goals in 100 games since his arrival at Atletico Madrid, including three goals across two ties against Spurs in the Champions League last-16.

Illiman Ndiaye update

Everton will resist offers for Arsenal target Illiman Ndiaye this summer, according to Football Insider.

The Senegal international has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent months, however David Moyes’ side have no intention of sanctioning a sale, while Ndiaye is understood to be happy at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Ndiaye is keen to eventually test himself at a higher level, but Everton are determined to retain his services as they look to improve their first-team squad this summer.

Martin Odegaard warning

Arsenal have been told to avoid the temptation of selling club captain Martin Odegaard, despite rumours that he could be offloaded this summer.

“It would be dangerous for Arsenal to sell Martin Odegaard,” former Gunners star Anders Limpar admitted (via Metro).

“The other players rely on him so much. The way he shows for the ball and dictates games, who is he taking the pressure off? Declan Rice and that lets Declan Rice do his stuff. He takes the pressure off Martin Zubimendi too.

“Suddenly Odegaard, the playmaker, is out. So the players look to Declan Rice. He is an engine but he is not a player who will make 20 assists with his passing. Zubimendi is not that player either.

“They are the link players between defence and attack. Odegaard is the playmaker. He makes the other players better. He makes Zubimendi and Declan Rice better.”
