Paris Saint-Germain could make a shock move for a struggling Serie A star this summer that could simultaneously solve a huge problem for Luis Enrique’s side.

PSG are aiming to continue building their squad towards becoming a dynasty across Europe after their Champions League success last season, with Football Advisor Luis Campos among the chiefs tasked with buying and selling players for head coach Luis Enrique.

While PSG have built a strong team across most the pitch, the Ligue 1 giants are still looking to add flair and pace up front, particularly with doubts over the future of Ousmane Dembele.

PSG have also struggled to shift off some high earners and poor investments from their past such as Randal Kolo Muani, who has spent the last two seasons out on loan after failing to impress in Paris since his €95 million arrival in 2023.

Kolo Muani is currently on loan at Tottenham and, with the Premier League side unlikely to extend his stay with the club, the 27-year-old is set to return to PSG this summer with no future despite having two years left on his contract.

PSG had been hoping to sell Kolo Muani to Juventus last summer after a successful loan spell but a deal failed to be agreed, however new reports have emerged that could bring the Frenchman back to Turin in exchange for a disastrous signing of their own.

PSG looking to give fresh start to Jonathan David and Kolo Muani

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, a deal is being worked to send Kolo Muani to Juventus, with Jonathan David being sent back in return.

David joined Juventus last summer on a free transfer from Lille but, despite much hype surrounding the signing, the Canadian international has netted just five goals in Serie A this season.

While Juventus are not convinced at the prospect of giving up on a previously successful player after just one year, the temptation to bring in Kolo Muani – whom the club were keen to sign last summer – may justify the decision to part ways with David.

Campos is said to consider the ‘real David’ the prolific star for Lille who scored 87 goals in 178 games in Ligue 1 rather than the misfiring forward for Juve, having signed the 26-year-old for the French side in 2020.

It is believed that deal could be a win-win for all parties by giving PSG a striker in the profile they desire and the player a fresh start, while also getting Kolo Muani off their books to a club that he spent an enjoyable stint with in 2025.

Although a deal is still at an early stage, PSG are hoping to recoup €40m for Kolo Muani in order to avoid capital losses – an amount which would make David a significant profit after his free transfer last year.
