Man Utd Transfer News Today: Next €100m target revealed as talks confirmed
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Manchester United transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Rayan and Bruno Guimaraes.
Rayan added to transfer shortlist
Manchester United are reportedly among the clubs keeping a close eye on Bournemouth forward Rayan following his impressive start to life in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old has scored two goals and provided one assist in seven English top flight appearances since arriving in January and his form is being closely monitored by Liverpool, Man Utd, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
That is according to TEAMtalk, who claim that Bournemouth aren’t yet concerned by transfer interest in their January signing.
It’s reported that Bournemouth included a €100m release clause in Rayan’s contract upon his arrival from Vasco da Gama, and they view the Brazilian as a key part of their future following the departure of the aforementioned Semenyo.
However, interest in the teenager has already spiked amid his recent form and the Cherries are therefore likely to face an “increasingly difficult task” in retaining his services.
Bruno Guimaraes talks
Man Utd are in “advanced talks” to sign Bruno Guimaraes in a deal worth €80 million from Newcastle United.
The Red Devils have been linked with a string of big-name midfielders prior to the summer transfer window, but Reuters reports they are closing in on a move for the Brazil international.
Newcastle’s Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona – the Magpies were beaten 7-2 in Camp Nou on Wednesday – has paved the way for Bruno, who is currently out injured, to depart the club in the summer.
Carlos Baleba latest
Man Utd have stepped up their chase for Carlos Baleba in the hopes of sealing a summer deal.
The Red Devils were unable to sign the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder last summer, but according to CentreDevils, United held talks with Baleba’s representatives last month over a potential summer move, with the 22-year-old said to be ‘extremely open’ to the switch.
However, a decision isn’t expected to be made until the end of the season, when United will know whether Michael Carrick will still be in charge and if they will be playing in the Champions League next year.
Brighton are aware of the interest and could consider Baleba’s departure for the right price, although, having quoted United more than €100 million for the Cameroonian last year, they are ‘expected to be tough to negotiate with’, the report claims.
Manuel Ugarte to leave
Man Utd midfielder Manuel Ugarte is “set to be sold” during the upcoming summer transfer window, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Uruguay international has fallen out of favour under interim boss Michael Carrick and he is now expected to depart Old Trafford on a permanent deal ahead of next season.
It’s reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers star Joao Gomes has been added to Man Utd’s list of midfield targets, which is still topped by Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson.
Joshua Zirkzee asking price
Man Utd have lowered their asking price for Joshua Zirkzee to just €25m amid interest from Juventus, according to Tuttosport.
The Serie A giants have identified Zirkzee as a potential summer signing following the woes of Lois Openda and Jonathan David so far this season, and Man Utd are now willing to sanction a sale if they receive an offer worth €25m.
Juventus are reportedly considering a loan deal with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met, although it remains to be seen if Man Utd would accept such an agreement.
