USMNT wonderkid wins the Golden Boot at Under-20s World Cup
The USMNT certainly has a serious talent on their hands in the form of wonderkid Benjamin Cremaschi.
Over the last month, Cremaschi has been busy lighting up the Under-20 World Cup where he represented the United States until their elimination at the quarter-final stage.
Despite the USA not featuring in a semi-final or final, the 20-year-old has earned the Golden Boot award, having scored five goals in five matches for his country at the tournament.
Neiser Villarreal of Colombia, Yassir Zabiri of eventual champions Morocco and Lucas Michal of France also scored five, but Cremaschi was named outright winner as he recorded more assists than those three players, having set up two goals.
His starring performances at the Under-20 World Cup is just another feather in the bow of this talented youngster, who has already made waves in North America and is set to in Europe.
Cremaschi was born in Miami but is the son of former Argentine rugby international Pablo Cremaschi so was eligible to play for the USA and Argentina.
Having progressed through the youth ranks of the USA, he made his senior debut in August of 2023 in a friendly fixture against Oman.
He has a handful of appearances for the USMNT but is the captain of the Under-20 side also.

In his youth he played for Key Biscayne and Weston FC before joining Inter Miami’s development programme in 2021.
He subsequently played for Inter Miami II before making his debut for the first-team in 2022.
Things turned sour, however, as he had a falling out with Inter boss Javier Mascherano over playing time and being played out of position.
At the beginning of September, he joined Parma on loan, with the Italian side having the option to purchase him permanently for €4.5 million, though he is yet to make an appearance due to his Under-20 World Cup commitments.
