UEFA have submitted 42 formal questions to FIFA demanding answers on a variety of issues, most of which surround FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

On Thursday, the FIFA Council met in Zurich for the first time since Infantino's secret FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal emerged.

The proposals would have seen private investment firms gain equity in the World Cup and that would have granted them a say in where and when the tournament would be held moving forward. UEFA accused Infantino of trying to sell the soul of football, while the Italian saw support from various confederations and countries withdrawn for his actions.

FIFA members and UEFA previously demanded that all documentation from the FFE plans be presented for examination, but it has not been released yet.

Football Association chair Debbie Hewitt said following the three-and-a-half-hour session that many questions remained unanswered about FFE, as well as Infantino's part in the Folarin Balogun saga and his decision to award Donald Trump the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize.

When pressed for answers, members were told to submit questions in writing, so that's exactly what UEFA has done.

The main themes around the 42 questions surround Donald Trump being awarded the FIFA Peace Prize, the FFE proposal, and the situation with Balogun.

UEFA general secretary Theodore Theodoridis wrote to his FIFA counterpart Mattias Grafström, citing "serious concerns raised regarding the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) project and others matters relating to FIFA's governance and decision-making."

The letter continues: "Explanations have not begun satisfactorily to address a number of fundamental questions raised by Council members. Others remain unanswered, and the information and documentation requested have not been provided.

"We also note FIFA's subsequent public statement concerning the meeting. The withdrawal of FFE, the acknowledgement of mistakes and the announcement of 'potential governance reforms' do not answer how the relevant decisions were taken or why the FIFA Council was not involved at the appropriate stage.

"Following the invitation made during the meeting to submit our questions in writing, we therefore enclose a consolidated set of questions and requests for information.

"We formally request a substantive written response to each question, together with all supporting documentation by Monday 2nd November."

Despite calls for him to resign as FIFA President, Infantino has already announced his intention to run again for the role in 2027.

UEFA are busy shortlisting candidates to oppose him.
