The Uruguayan is one of the greatest centre forward of the 21st century, known for periods with Ajax, Liverpool, Barcelona and now Inter Miami.

It was at Liverpool and then Barca that he evolved into of of the best players around, especially at Camp Nou where he formed part of the heralded 'MSN' trio alongside friend Lionel Messi and Neymar.

With his brilliance always comes some kind of controversy, however.

Whether it be a lengthy ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup, or the race row with Manchester United's Patrice Evra, Suarez's name is never far from the headlines.

He has been involved in no less than three biting incidents.

Even in the twilight of his career he has had discipline problems as he has served multiple suspensions for Inter Miami this campaign.

The man himself is aware of his reputation.

"I often think that I can be an example of rebellion, of resilience, of continuing to fight, of continuing to struggle. On the other hand, there are many things in which I'm not an example," Suarez told Sport.

"And I accept it, I know it, and I understand it. I've always fought against criticism: I debuted for Nacional at 18, and they criticized me for missing goals. That's when I started trying to turn the page on those criticisms, and then when I went to Holland, they told me I was fat, and they said the same thing at Ajax.

"Later, at Liverpool, they attacked me for my acts of indiscipline. Then, at Barcelona, for going through bad spells. In every stage of my career, I've always fought against the same thing."

Suarez reckons his tough upbringing in Salto and Montevideo contributed to his rebel outlook.

"It's been like this since I was a kid," he admitted.

"I didn't have enough to eat and I always had to go out and find food for myself and my family. It was always, always like that. Ever since I've had a conscience, I've always fought against everything. I've never had anything easy. I've never had anything easy, and that's always made me fight to the end."

In addition to playing football in the streets, Suarez was a road sweeper before he turned professional.

Suarez to return to Barcelona?

Like Messi, Suarez has revealed a desire to return to Barcelona to live after his stint in Miami.

When asked by Sport if he still thinks about the city and club, he replied:

"Yes, always, constantly, children too, because we do not stop being supported, we do not stop having admiration for the club, of bringing it affection and keeping in touch with people from the club. We still have our house there.

"Our plan is to come back to Barcelona for everything that Barcelona means to us. This is confirmed by everything the club has brought us and because we have always felt at home there."

The Argentine, especially, left the Blaugrana under a cloud after the club couldn't afford to register him as a player due to financial restrictions.

Very recently he returned to Camp Nou for the first time since leaving for a secret rendezvous on the pitch.
