USWNT coach Emma Hayes 'unlikely' to ever return to club management
USWNT head coach Emma Hayes admits it is "highly unlikely" she will ever return to club management
Hayes is one of the most successful female managers in history and led Chelsea to seven Women's Super League title as well as five FA Cups among other honours for the Blues.
She is also an Olympic Gold Medalist, having guided the USWNT to gold at the Paris event in 2024.
In 2024, she also became the first recipient of the Women's Johan Cruyff Trophy, an honour given to the best coach in women's football.
Despite those exploits at club level, she probably won't return to the day-to-day graft as she is enjoying combing her role with the United States with her life as a mother.
"I don’t think so. I think it’s highly unlikely." she replied to Sky Sports when asked about a return to club management.
"I’m enjoying what I’m doing and I’m enjoying the pace of it. Being a mum is really important to me and I think that, at this moment in time, combining this [current] job with being a parent as the two things I want to do more than anything else."
The former Chelsea manager was speaking after being inducted into the National Football Museum's Hall of Fame.
Interestingly, she compared international management to the role of being a grandparent.
"It has been incredible, it really has," explained 48-year-old.
"It is like becoming a grandparent, international football. You don't get to see them [the players] all of the time and you send them back to their parents - or their clubs - at the end of that period.
"I've really enjoyed getting to know a new set of players and working with a nation that have been really dear to me and a massive part of my development."
Hayes' inclusion in the Hall of Fame puts her next to legendary names like Brian Clough, Bob Paisley, Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson.
