12 summer moves you might have missed
The summer transfer window once again saw a flurry of spending, particularly from the Premier League.
In England's top flight, the transfer record was broken twice by Liverpool, who signed Florian Wirtz from Leverkusen for £117 million only to sign Alexander Isak on deadline day for £125m.
Away from the millions and billions spent by Europe's top clubs, however, there were some interesting smaller deals from around the world.
Here are 12 you may have missed. Transfers, loans, sackings, hirings, switches, retirements...
Montse Tome
Following Spain's defeat to England in the 2025 Women's Euros final, La Roja parted company with Tome and named Sonia Bermudez as head coach.
Allan Saint-Maximin
The ex-Newcastle United winger joined Mexican giants America from Al Ahli for a fee of around £9m after spending last season on loan in Turkey at Fenerbahce.
Reinier
In 2020, Real Madrid paid Flamengo £26m for the attacking midfielder.
But after five years and a series of loans he returned to Brazil, joining Atletico Mineiro on a free transfer.
Luka Jovic
Another big-money signing for Real Madrid, costing Los Blancos £55m 2019 following a prolific spell at Eintracht Frankfurt, the Serbian joined AEK Athens from Milan.
Jason Puncheon
After leading Akritas Chlorakas to promotion last season, Puncheon had to resign as he does not have his UEFA Pro Licence, mandatory for top-flight coaches in Cyprus.
Thomas Muller
Having played his last game for Bayern Munich at the Club World Cup, the 35-year-old moved to Canada to join MLS high-flyers Vancouver Whitecaps.
Rodrigo De Paul
One of Lionel Messi's favourite teammates joined him at Inter Miami.
De Paul signed for Atletico Madrid in 2021, shortly after impressing in Argentina's Copa America victory. He joined initially on loan but the deal will be made permanent.
Inigo Martinez
Facing another summer of financial uncertainty, Barcelona reluctantly allowed their most experienced centre-back to join Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
Nolberto Solano
The ex-Newcastle United and Peru star took charge of Pakistan after their FIFA ban was lifted. Solano, 50, will also lead the Under-23s in the upcoming U23 Asian Cup qualifiers.
Andrea Pirlo
The Italian great took the fourth managerial job of his career, joining UAE second-tier outfit United FC. Pirlo is yet to last much more than a year in any of his previous roles.
Wayne Hennessey
Aged 38, the goalkeeper retired to take up a coaching role with his club Nottingham Forest. He won 109 caps for Wales - only Gareth Bale played more games for the Dragons.
Mason Greenwood
Five years after his one and only England cap, the former Manchester United striker switched international allegiance to Jamaica, and could make his debut in September.
