Chelsea discover the future of Alex Scott amid 'pushed to leave' revelation

Bournemouth have no appetite to sell Alex Scott in the January transfer window despite strong interest from Chelsea, according to BBC Sport.

The 23-year-old midfielder is regarded as one of the best young players in the Premier League having sparkled for Bournemouth in recent seasons.

Scott enhanced his burgeoning reputation by making his senior England debut in the 2-0 win over Czechia in the Nations League on Tuesday.

Chelsea remain firm admirers of Scott despite having a €74.8million (£64m) offer rejected by Bournemouth in the summer.

However, BBC Sport understands Bournemouth have told the Blues they will not entertain further offers for Scott in the January transfer window.

Arsenal and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the €117million-rated (£100m) Scott, who has just two years left on his contract with the Cherries.

BBC Sport claims Scott "pushed to leave" the south-coast club in the summer after turning down two offers to renew his terms, which was first reported by The Athletic.

It is understood the former Bristol City man harbours the ambition of playing for one of England’s biggest clubs, hence his reluctance to sign a new deal.

Yet Bournemouth will not welcome contact over Scott until their Premier League ambitions are either fulfilled or out of reach, BBC Sport claims.

Scott in line to earn more minutes for England

Scott will hope to earn more senior minutes for England when they travel to Croatia in the Nations League on Saturday evening.

The Three Lions will then entertain Czechia at Wembley Stadium next Tuesday (6 October) before the international break concludes.

Scott is in line to face suitors Chelsea when Bournemouth travel to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday, 10 October.

Considered one of the best ball-carrying midfielders in England, Scott has registered seven goals and as many assists in 95 games for Bournemouth.

Chelsea are keen to sign a player of his profile after missing out on landing a replacement for Enzo Fernandez on transfer deadline day in September.

The west London club came close to signing Lamine Camara from Monaco, only for the Ligue 1 side to abort the transfer late on.

Chelsea have been linked with other midfielders including Arsenal’s Martin Zubimendi, Everton’s James Garner and Roma’s Manu Kone.
