Man Utd Transfer News Today: Dimarco move expected as surprise agreement reached
All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Federico Dimarco, Felix Nmecha and Alexis Mac Allister.
Exclusive: Man Utd target Dimarco
FootballTransfers understands that Man Utd have made Inter superstar Federico Dimarco a priority target for the summer transfer window.
Inter are reluctant to sell and want to hand him a contract extension, as his current terms are set to expire in 2027. However, if no agreement can be reached, they will likely have to sell.
Regardless of Inter's stance, sources expected Man Utd to make an approach for the 28-year-old. Given his age, the Red Devils will look to start negotiations at €45 million, but they could be prepared to go a fair bit higher with the final fee.
Nmecha agrees new contract
Man Utd midfield target Felix Nmecha has reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund over a new contract, according to Sky Germany.
Nmecha, who grew up in England, has admitted that he dreams of a Premier League move, but he will remain at Dortmund for the time being, with his contract set to be extended from 2028 to 2030.
The 25-year-old will be among Dortmund's highest-paid players when his deal is officially announced.
Romano on Mac Allister
Man Utd have been associated with a shock move for Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, but the situation remains quiet, Fabrizio Romano states.
Mac Allister confirmed on Monday that he is not in contract talks with Liverpool, but he also emphasised that there is "no rush" from either party. His current deal runs until 2028.
“There were stories about Manchester United and Mac Allister in England in February, but as I already said at that stage I’m not aware of anything concrete," Romano said. "United will sign midfielders, but the situation with Mac Allister is still quiet."
Rashford could be left in limbo
Barcelona could leave Marcus Rashford in limbo by deciding against exercising their €30m purchase option in his loan deal, according to MARCA.
Though this price tag seems to be good value for money, Barcelona's financial situation makes triggering the clause anything but straightforward. They are therefore lining up cheaper alternatives as potential contingency options.
Man Utd, for their part, have no use for Rashford, so the England international could face a period of uncertainty in the summer.
Man Utd interested in Manzambi
Man Utd are among the Premier League clubs interested in SC Freiburg midfielder Johan Manzambi, according to TEAMtalk.
The Switzerland international is enjoying a strong campaign in the Bundesliga, which has attracted the attention of the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd.
Freiburg value Manzambi at €50m as he still has a long-term contract with the club. Man Utd would use him as a squad player initially.
Man Utd keeping tabs on Elmas
Man Utd are also, somewhat surprisingly, keeping tabs on Eljif Elmas at Napoli, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The North Macedonia international returned to the Serie A giants on loan in the summer after failing to perform at RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. He has managed to impress in various midfield roles this season.
It is suggested that Napoli could exercise their €16m purchase option and sell him on for a relatively affordable fee this summer. Man Utd are attentive to this potential market opportunity.
Sancho on his way back to Dortmund?
Man Utd outcast Jadon Sancho could be set to join Borussia Dortmund for a third time this summer, according to Sky Germany.
While there are doubts as to whether he would be a cultural fit for the Niko Kovac regime, a summer move is being considered, especially in light of the announcement that Julian Brandt will leave as a free agent.
Sancho is currently on loan at Aston Villa and will be available on a Bosman deal after this season, as Man Utd have opted not to exercise their one-year option in his contract.
